This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this marketing site (crumb.localhostlabs.net) and in Crumb Cloud (crumb-app.localhostlabs.net). It expands on Section 7 of our Privacy Policy. We keep cookies to a minimum: we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
1. The two kinds we use
Essential cookies are required for the app to work — chiefly to keep you signed in and to secure your session. They're set when you log in and can't be switched off without breaking sign-in. Under GDPR/ePrivacy these are "strictly necessary" and don't require consent.
Analytics on this marketing site uses PostHog to understand which pages are useful (page views, referrers, clicks) and optional session replay of the marketing pages. Analytics is off by default and only loads after you accept the consent banner. Decline and nothing analytics-related is set; we also honor your browser's Do Not Track signal. PostHog's replay on this site masks text inputs and blocks password and email fields.
2. Cookies at a glance
| Cookie / store | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Essential | Keeps you signed in to Crumb Cloud and secures the session | Up to 7 days; cleared on sign-out |
| Consent choice | Essential | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don't re-ask | Local to your browser until cleared |
| PostHog analytics | Analytics (consent-gated) | Page views, referrers, clicks, and optional marketing-site session replay | Set only after consent; per PostHog defaults |
3. Managing your choices
- Analytics: decline the consent banner, or change your mind later by clearing this site's stored choice (then reload to be asked again). With analytics declined, no PostHog cookies are set.
- Do Not Track: if your browser sends a DNT signal, we treat it as a decline and don't load analytics.
- Browser controls: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will break sign-in and parts of the app.
4. Changes
We'll update this page if our use of cookies changes, and revise the date above. Material changes will be reflected in the consent experience.
